We are looking for an Energy Trader to work across energy-market analysis, price forecasts and trading scenarios, supporting data-driven market and operational decisions.
The role sits close to both market analysis and our PYTHIA platform, connecting market data, forecasting and asset optimization with practical trading workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse Day-Ahead and Intraday electricity markets.
- Review market-price forecasts, scenarios and deviations against actual outcomes.
- Support bidding and trading strategy development for BESS, PV and hybrid assets.
- Evaluate market opportunities, price spreads and revenue potential.
- Work with optimization outputs and translate them into practical market decisions.
- Collaborate with analysts and developers to improve market models, workflows and decision-support tools.
What We Are Looking For
- Background in energy markets, trading, economics, engineering, mathematics, finance or a related quantitative field.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to work with time-series and market data.
- Good understanding of electricity-market fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret forecasts, identify market signals and communicate conclusions clearly.
- Comfort working in a technical, data-driven environment.
- Strong English communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Day-Ahead or Intraday electricity markets.
- Knowledge of BESS dispatch, arbitrage or renewable-energy market participation.
- Experience with Python, SQL, Excel or other analytical tools.
- Previous exposure to energy forecasting or optimization.

You will work on real energy-market problems involving forecasting, storage optimization, bidding strategies and market-performance analysis, with direct exposure to the development and use of MetEn’s analytical tools.
